The Rules
The world keeps changing. The rules of Pickem stay reliably constant.
- Each week, the spreads are posted for every NFL game.
- For each game you choose the favorite, the underdog, or none.
- Every right answer is +1, every wrong answer is −1. A no-pick or a spread tie (push) is 0.
- Once per week you can tag a single game as your Sure Thing to double it — that game is worth +2 or −2.
Payouts
The buy-in is a crisp $20. It's as hard to pick wrong as it is to pick right, so last place cashes too — if the season goes sideways, you're still in it.
- 1st place: 60%
- 2nd place: 25%
- Last place: 15%
What's a spread?
A spread (or line) says which team is favored and by how much — e.g. Vikings −3 means the Vikings are favored by 3. To pick the favorite and win, they have to win by more than the spread; to pick the underdog and win, they just have to lose by less than the spread (or win outright). Adjust the favorite's final score by the spread — whoever's ahead then, covered.
GOAT Bounties
Season-long side-pots on top of the main standings. Hit the mark and the commissioner confirms it — winnings come out of the pot at the end of the year.
